BBC Sherlock Playlist

Here lies my ever-growing list of songs that (IMO, obviously) apply to Sherlock. I decided to make this page because I just got sick of trying to remember/keep this list in my head. So here we are. I'll also try to add an explanation/why-this-song-is-Sherlocky-in-my-head thingy for each. (Fair warning: Most/all of these are pop songs. Heh. :P)
Also, I don't think there's really any order to these; I'm just listing them as I remember. Jsyk.

Aishwarya's BBC Sherlock Playlist - Sherlock/John

  1. It Will Rain by Bruno Mars - angsty, beautiful song reminiscent of AOtW, The End is a Fraud, and His Favorite Four-Letter F-Words. John to Sherlock.
  2. Please Don't Leave Me by P!nk - reminds me of His Favorite Four-Letter F-Words every time, specifically flee. But also, works for Sherlock in general. Sherlock to John.
  3. Hey, Soul Sister by Train - this has always been my favorite song, but I only recently realized it actually does apply to John and Sherlock's relationship. (The line "Like a virgin" made me lol because Sherlock's nickname is "The Virgin," apparently.)
  4. Please Don't Go by Mike Posner - another don't-leave type of song, but this one feels more gen to me; it's describing Sherlock/John running away from Moriarty rather than one of them running away from the other.
  5. Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars - previously, this was a Lily/Severus song, but I realized that this could also apply to post-Reichenbach John who is refusing to believe that Sherlock is really gone. (I must admit, this revelation only came to me after I found a version of this song that someone had wrote on tumblr as described above.)
  6. A Thousand Years by Christina Perri - one of my most favorite Johnlock songs. Really beautiful, and it's a happy/hopeful kind of song. Surprising, right? Most of this playlist is angsty, haha. This was introduced to me by ukdrwatson on tumblr. (Best RP evah. Nuff said.)
  7. Mirror by Lil Wayne ft. Bruno Mars - recently discovered this song. Could apply to pre-Sherlock John or post-Reichenbach Sherlock (specifically the line "Through my rise and fall" or "I look just like my fucking dad."). I don't like Lil Wayne, but this song really is moving.
  8. Paradise by Coldplay - post-Reichenbach John, but with a more hopeful tone than other post-Reiechenbach songs. Inspired by the recent fanfic I've read where John falls apart after Sherlock's death.
  9. Fix You by Coldplay - post-Reichenbach John, and Sherlock returns. </3 Heartbreakingly angsty.
  10. 9 Crimes by Damien Rice - post-Reichenbach John. The lyrics really are perfect - especially the bit about the gun. Canon <3
  11. Oh No! by Marina and the Diamonds - OMG, I can't even. This song is the one that I think most applies to Sherlock. The lyrics are perfect, every single one of them.
  12. Poison Prince by Amy MacDonald - gen, about John meeting Sherlock. The lyrics really apply to Sherlock.
  13. This Is War by 30 Seconds to Mars - gen. Moriarty and his web vs. the world. This is war.
  14. Breakeven by The Script - Sherlock falling to pieces after John leaves. ;u;
  15. Someone Like You by Adele - I don't even know, y'all. Seriously. I never even liked this song, but yesterday I realized it applied to Sherlock. >.> Basically, it's Sherlock after he comes back three years later, only to find that John's happily married to Mary Morstan. Sherlock's lurking in the background, unsure of what to do, because he's fairly sure John's moved on, and doesn't want to see him anyway. Oh God. I think I just wrote out a fic plot summary. (Ykw, I think I should write it...)
  16. No Light, No Light by Florence + The Machine - do I even need to explain this one? It's a Reichenbach song. HEAVY angst.
  17. Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine - it really shouldn't be, but it is. John post-Reichenbach.
  18. Echo by Jason Walker - again, post-Reichenbach John.
  19. The Scientist by Coldplay - gosh, I love this song. Perfect Sherlock song, with tinges of Reichenbach angst.
  20. You Found Me by The Fray - a sort of post-Reichenbach reunion song. Johnlock.

BBC Sherlock Playlist - Other

  1. Blow by Ke$ha - not even gonna lie, I never realized how utterly Moriarty this song is. Until I found it on burnallthehearts. -___- Now, I can't unhear it, ever. Seriously, though! The TITLE is so obvious; I can't believe I never saw it before. (Blow? As in TGG! And the line "We are taking over, get used to it" is so evidently Moriarty... idk.)
  2. Set Fire to the Rain by Adele - Apparently, Moriarty likes this song, so now I REALLY can't unhear it. -_____- Thanks, burnallthehearts. You're freaking corrupting all my songs! (And so perfectly in-character while doing it too, Jesus.)
  3. Rolling in the Deep by Adele - Same as above. But I can also see this as Moriarty hatching evil plans because of some wrong that Sherlock did. (Lulz, now I ship Sherlock/Moriarty, apparently.)
  4. Cooler Than Me by Mike Posner - Everyone's perception of Sherlock. Especially Molly's. <3 Poor Molly! She's undoubtedly one of the BAMFest characters in the show.
  5. Criminal by Britney Spears - OMFG. So perfectly MorMor. And I found on tumblr a post that proves that I'm not the only one who's heard the connection.
  6. Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne - This video explains it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYRKySfNBCw
